The Fishers Arms building has been saved and is owned by shareholders of the community benefit society known as The Fishers Arms Horncliffe Community Pub Limited. The Benefit Society was registered with the Financial Conduct Authority on 16th March 2022.

The initial share offer was open between 23rd May to 7th July 2022 with an initial target of £200,000 to buy the asset. The share offer was extended to 31st October 2022 with an additional target of £150,000 to refurbish the building and set up the pub business.

The Benefit Society successfully purchased the asset for £185,000 in July 2022.
The first share offer raised a total of £220,000 purchased by 162 shareholders.

The £130,000 shortfall to reach our refurbishment target means that we continue to fund raise towards our £350,000 target.

The second share offer was open from 4th December 2023 to 28th February 2024 and extended to 30 April 2024, and raised £16,000.

We are extremely grateful to The Prince’s Countryside Fund, The National Lottery Community Fund, Berwick Community Trust and Tesco Community Grants, Northumberland County Council and Pub is the Hub for the grant funding we have received.
