COMMUNITY BENEFIT SOCIETY
FISHERS ARMS HORNCLIFFE
The Fishers Arms pub has been at the heart of Horncliffe village since 1760. The pub was closed in 2021 and in danger of being lost to residential housing. It was saved in July 2022 when shareholders bought this valued village asset. They were determined to refurbish and improve the building for the use of the local community.
This website will keep shareholders and the community up to date on all the activities undertaken by the Community Benefit Society to manage the building and the funds generated by rental income from the pub.
A traditional village pub, which also serves as the social hub for the village.
After two years of hard work; community volunteers, shareholders, grant funders and local trades have transformed the building into a warm, comfortable social space. Our community is proud of the building we have saved, and delighted that it will continue in the village for generations to come.
